Lockdown lifted at Manchester University

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (AP) A lockdown has been lifted at an Indiana university where school officials previously said an armed person had been reported near an administration building.

Manchester University posted the all-clear status on its website early Saturday morning following a lockdown at the school's North Manchester campus that lasted several hours.

University officials say police swept all buildings and residence halls and found no credible threats.

The original lockdown alert issued Friday night at the school located about 35 miles west of Fort Wayne had advised students to shelter in place, remain quiet and silence their cell phones until police issued an all-clear status.

A dispatcher at the Wabash County Sheriff's Department said no further details were immediately available.
