INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (WOWO) Indiana is officially one of the luckiest states in the country for lottery players, according to a new study by Winz.io.

The study ranks the Hoosier State fourth in the nation for the most jackpot winners per capita, producing nearly six major winners for every one million residents. While smaller Northeastern states claimed the top three spots, Indiana leads the entire country in the total number of Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots since 1992. According to the research, the state has produced 41 life-changing lottery wins to date.

The ranking highlights Indiana’s strong presence in multi-state lotteries, reflecting both the number of residents participating and the frequency of major prize winners. Analysts say these results make the state one of the most successful for players hoping for large jackpots.
