Man Caught Day after Escape from Indiana Jailer

GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) _ Officials say a man who escaped from a central Indiana jail guard while handcuffed has been caught.

The Hancock County Sherriff's Department says that 46-year-old Tony Bowling was tracked down Friday morning at an Indianapolis home and arrested without incident.

The department says he scuffled with the guard and ran off Thursday morning while being moved from a transport van to the jail in downtown Greenfield. Bowling had been arrested on warrants from Hancock and Johnson counties for non-violent offenses, including fleeing law enforcement and failure to pay child support.

Officials say several community members provided tips that helped investigators find Bowling.
