Man killed in Amish buggy crash in SE Indiana

VERSAILLES, Ind. (AP): State police say a young man was killed after being ejected from an Amish buggy that crashed into a pickup truck in southeastern Indiana.

The crash happened Thursday night on U.S. 421 near the Ripley County town of Versailles. Police say a horse-and-buggy driven by Daniel Stoltzfus of Versailles crossed the highway's centerline into the path of a pickup truck.

Sgt. Noel Houze says Stoltzfus was thrown onto the roadway and might have also been hit by other vehicles. Houze says Stoltzfus was about 18 years old.

The horse was also killed in the crash. None of the other drivers were hurt.
