Man On Moped Pulled Over With Child On Lap

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man, a child, alcohol and a moped do not mix.

Even though a man said he had permission to take a kid on a moped ride, police have put 51 year old James T. Cook Jr. of Fort Wayne in jail for the dangerous ride. He was caught by New Haven police weaving his moped with a child in his lap. According to the Journal Gazette, Cook said he “had a couple of drinks,” but during the breath test he blew a .27 percent. He refused to another test, but a warrant was issued for a blood draw.

Cook is accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a passenger under the age of 18, as well as a helmet violation. He remains in the Allen County Jail on a $5,000 bond and has a lifetime drivers license suspension.
