FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man plead guilty in Allen Superior Court to shooting his 5-year-old daughter in the head.
According to the Journal Gazette, Toney White II plead guilty on Friday to a level 5 charge of reckless homicide and the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime in connection to the February death of Mya White.
On Febrary 13th, White was showing off his firearms, including a chrome 9 mm handgun. After White loaded the gun, a witness told police he turned around to watch television. That's when he heard the gun fire.
When the witness turned back around, he saw White pointing the gun in the direction of where his 5-year-old daughter had been kneeling a few minutes before.
Mya was found bleeding on the floor. In a panic, White stuffed the guns in a dresser drawer and tried to clean up.
The Journal Gazette reports crime scene technicians found red stains on the bathroom walls and sink, as well as on two guns tucked inside the dresser.
There's no word yet on White's prison sentence; however, a level 5 felony calls for a sentence of at least one to six years.
