Man sentenced to 80 years for Allen County murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) A man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for the murder of 28-year-old Tornor Doby in June 2025.

The Allen County Prosecutor’s Office says Shan Ford Jr. received the sentence Tuesday after being convicted of murder during a retrial.

The case involved a confrontation at Doby’s home that resulted in the deaths of Doby and his former girlfriend, 39-year-old Anisha Jackson.

Prosecutors detail deadly confrontation

According to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, Ford, Jackson and Quenecia Gaylor went to Doby’s home in June 2025 to confront him.

Prosecutors said Doby shot and killed Jackson, who remained inside a vehicle during the confrontation.

Authorities said Ford then shot and killed Doby.

Gaylor later pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal in January.

Retrial leads to murder conviction

Ford’s first trial ended with a jury unable to reach a unanimous decision on the murder charge.

During that trial, the jury found Ford not guilty of felony murder and burglary.

A second trial was held in May 2026, where a new jury found Ford guilty of murder.

Ford was sentenced to 80 years in prison Tuesday following that conviction.

Case concludes with sentencing

The sentence follows the conclusion of the retrial process and resolves the criminal case against Ford.

Court records show the sentencing was based on the murder conviction related to Doby’s death.
