Mayor Tom Henry Speaks to Police and Fire Recruit Classes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Monday afternoon Mayor Tom Henry met with the new recruits for the Fort Wayne police and Fire departments. This comes on the heels of 22 new recruits beginning the Fort Wayne Police Department’s academy class last week and 25 new recruits beginning the Fort Wayne Fire Department’s academy class this afternoon.

“I’m encouraged by the enthusiasm and dedication displayed by our new recruits,” said Mayor Henry. “Our future police officers and firefighters are committed to public service, and they’re joining an outstanding team of professionals.”

The classes are made possible by Mayor Henry’s Administration, the Fiscal Policy Group, neighborhood and business leaders and by the members of City Council who supported and passed a financial plan that provided the funding for the academy classes.
