MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) – A northern Indiana mayor plans to bring high quality road signs with an urban flair to his city, saying it will give visitors a sense of cohesiveness.
Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood says the new signs will point visitors toward the city's main attractions including its historical downtown, the northern shopping district and the nearby University of Notre Dame.
The South Bend Tribune rep(orts (http://bit.ly/1zMquD7 ) the signs would also go up at the city's main entry points, including a new connector road that links Capital Avenue to the Indiana Toll Road.
Funding for the project hasn't been established, but Wood says the city already has a contract in place with a sign maker in Osceola. The first signs could appear as early as this spring.
