Mistakenly freed killer back in Indiana prison…

CHICAGO (AP) _ A convicted killer recaptured after his mistaken release from a Chicago jail is back behind bars in Indiana, where is serving a 60-year sentence for murder.

Prison spokeswoman Pam James says Steven Robbins arrived Saturday afternoon at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City and was being processed.

Robbins had been brought to Chicago to face charges from an old case, and was mistakenly freed on Wednesday instead of being returned to Indiana.

He was recaptured Friday night without incident at a home in Kankakee, 60 miles south of Chicago.

At a brief appearance in bond court in Chicago on Saturday, a public defender told the judge Robbins had “no intention to flee.”

Attorney Todd Chatman noted Robbins was released by the state and said he was not at fault.
