PIERCETON, Ind. (WOWO): Three people were injured in a fiery four-vehicle wreck in Pierceton, but everyone is expected to be alright.

The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the intersection of U.S. 30 and S.R. 13. A semi ran into the back of a Dodge Neon that was stopped at the red light. The car then hit another semi before bursting into flames. The fire spread to the side of the first semi’s vehicle.

Two people helped the driver and passenger out of the vehicle when it caught fire. A fourth driver also had minor damage in the crash. The driver of the car was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw with internal and head injuries. His passenger was also taken to the hospital with second-degree burns to her legs. The driver of the second semi, despite being able to drive his semi out of harm’s way after the collision, is being treated for a possible leg fracture.

The crash remains under investigation. The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team was assisted at the scene by members of the Pierceton Police and Fire Department, North Webster E.M.S. and Fire Department, Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory, Lutheran Kosciusko E.M.S., Winona Police Department, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
