INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana’s newest specialty license plate is giving a boost to recycling programs around the state.

Indiana Recycling Coalition executive director Carey Hamilton says she’s thrilled the Bureau of Motor Vehicles approved the new plate, which became available for purchase this month.

Proceeds from its sale will support the Indianapolis-based coalition’s statewide recycling programs and efforts to educate Hoosiers about environmental sustainability.

The specialty plate includes the coalition’s website address and a recycling symbol with arrows pointing to a blue state map.

The new plate can be ordered through the BMV’s website, at certified BMV partner locations, by mail or at any license branch. It’s available for passenger vehicles, trucks up to 11,000 pounds, motorcycles and recreational vehicles.

Wow, that’s pretty cool. I might have to get that license plate when I get my first car!
