HUNTINGTON, Ind. (AP): Huntington County officials have decided not to file charges in a case where dead and malnourished Clydesdales were discovered on a horse farm.

Huntington County Prosecutor Amy Richison says she could not file charges because necropsies weren't done on the horses found dead in March to determine how they died. She says there was also no evidence that the horses belonging to Grandview Clydesdales weren't taken care of.

County Animal Control officer Lori Vanover she's disappointed with the prosecutor's decision.

She says necropsies weren't done because some of the dead horses were badly decomposed.

Vanover said in March that five horses had died, but Richison says the investigation took into account two dead horses, and a third that had to be euthanized.
