Notre Dame Researchers Get $23M for Malaria Fight

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP): The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded $23 million for research being led by a pair of University of Notre Dame biologists.  The five-year project will focus on trying to find new ways to stop the spread of malaria and dengue fever. The World Health Organization estimates 207 million cases of malaria were reported in 2012. Up to 100 million dengue infections occur every year.
