October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): October marks National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to promote early cancer detection. Mammography expert, Dr. Carol Lee, discussed the importance of screenings with Fort Wayne's Morning News. She explained that while there are alternative tests to detect breast cancer, a standard mammogram is still a necessity. She says that women at average risk for breast cancer should start receiving regular yearly mammograms at age 40.
