Plane Crash Pilot Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): We finally know who was flying the plane that crashed into a Fort Wayne resident's back yard, but we don't know why he fled the scene.

Jeffrey Mills of Butler was the pilot of a Cessna 150 that took out a power line, clipped some trees and part of a roof before crashing early Saturday morning near Smith Field. That's according to his lawyer, who told the Journal Gazette Mills was injured in the crash, but walked away, and is now being treated in an “undisclosed location.”

The lawyer wouldn't say why Mills left the scene, nor would he identify the passenger in the plane, who was also injured.

The FAA is investigating.
