Police: 14-year-old Boy Shot Dead in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) – Police in Elkhart say a 14-year-old boy has been shot dead.

WNDU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1CJyxmZ ) the shooting happened at about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities identified the boy as Dezjaun Sanders. They say he was taken to Elkhart General Hospital, where he died.

Officials say the shooting appeared to have escalated from an argument. Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Elkhart police.
