FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting that happened at an apartment complex off Illinois Road this morning.

Jeff Bowman of 21Alive tells WOWO news a male victim was shot at the Preston Pointe Apartments and died at the scene.

The Fort Wayne Police Department says two adult males got into an apartment in a suspected robbery attempt at around 6am and shot the resident inside the apartment. Another resident was uninjured and called police.

It’s unclear if the suspects broke into the apartment or were allowed in.

Detectives are trying to get descriptions of the two suspects. It’s unknown if anything was taken.
