Police: Landlord Fatally Shot at C. Ind. Property

EATON, Ind. (AP): Police believe a man was evicting a tenant from his property in a small central Indiana town when he was fatally shot over the weekend.

The Delaware County coroner says 50-year-old Mark Gilland of Eaton was pronounced dead at the scene of Saturday's shooting inside a pole barn on the property about 10 miles north of Muncie.

Eaton Town Marshal Jonathon Snodgrass says a man who investigators believe stole Gilland's pickup truck was arrested Sunday in Muncie.

Snodgrass say police believe Gilland had gone to the property to evict a tenant with whom he had a dispute. Family members found his body late Saturday, hours after investigators believe he was shot.

No charges were immediately filed in the shooting.
