Police: Man Fatally Shot on I-80/94 in NW Indiana

HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) – State police say a 25-year-old man was fatally shot while driving on Interstate 80-94 in northwestern Indiana.

Sgt. Kim Riley says Dominique Wright of Hammond was driving westbound on the highway in Gary when he was shot Thursday night. Wright was apparently able to keep driving for about a mile before crashing into another vehicle and coming to a stop on the highway's berm in Hammond.

Riley says Wright was pronounced dead at the scene a few miles west of the Indiana-Illinois state line. 

No arrests were immediately made.
