Police: Man Kills Girl, 3, Self in Indiana; Wife, Son Hurt

PAOLI, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say a 3-year-old girl and her father have been found dead of gunshot wounds inside a southern Indiana home.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Phillip Hensley says 37-year-old Jeremy Gehl fatally shot the girl and wounded his 6-year-old son in the Paoli home before turning the gun on himself. A woman police identified as the man's wife was also found in the home suffering from several stab wounds.

State police say they believe Gehl attacked his wife with a knife during the altercation. He allegedly shot the children when they came downstairs.

The girl was pronounced dead after being airlifted to a hospital.

Police haven't given a motive for the shootings, saying only it started as a domestic dispute.
