Police Searching for Suspect After South Bend Man Shot Dead

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Police have identified a 21-year-old man who they say was shot multiple times and killed in South Bend.

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit Lt. Dave Wells says Jerry Wright of South Bend collapsed on the sidewalk Tuesday evening after he was shot outside a home. Wright was taken in critical condition to a hospital where he died. Wells says the shooting happened after a verbal dispute at the house.

Police say they are searching for a suspect in the shooting. They also say they're investigating two vehicles at the scene. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police.
