Primary Voting Info: Dates and Registration Deadlines for Ohio, Indiana, Michigan

FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO) The deadline to register to vote in Ohio for the May 5 primary election is approaching next week. Voters must complete their registration by Monday, April 6 to be eligible to vote in the primary, according to the official Ohio election calendar.

Indiana voters face the same registration deadline for the May 5 primary. In Indiana, voters can register online, by mail (with applications postmarked by April 6), or in person by that date to participate in the primary election, according to the Indiana Secretary of State’s office.

Michigan’s voter registration deadlines for the May 5 election differ slightly. Residents can register or update their registration by mail or online through April 20. After that point, new registrations must be completed in person at local city or township clerk offices, with in‑person registration available through Election Day.

The May 5 primary in all three states will determine party nominees for a range of federal, state, and local offices. Ohio and Indiana voters must meet the April 6 deadline to ensure their registration is processed in time. In Michigan, voters have additional time to register by mail or online, but in‑person registration will still be permitted up to and including May 5, provided proper documentation is presented.

Voters seeking more information on registration status, sample ballots, and polling locations can visit their state’s Secretary of State website or local county board of elections.
