Purdue Plans Posthumous Degree for Slain Student

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Purdue University officials are moving ahead with plans to award a posthumous degree to the student fatally shot and stabbed during a campus attack last month. The Purdue board's Academic Affairs Committee voted Thursday to endorse the posthumous degree in electrical engineering for 21-year-old Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wis. Officials say he had met most of the degree requirements before he was killed Jan. 21 inside Purdue's Electrical Engineering Building on the West Lafayette campus.
