FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — The American Red Cross is encouraging people to give blood this September as the blood supply remains vulnerable.

From September 1 through September 20, anyone who donates blood will receive an exclusive Red Cross and Hello Kitty plush mascot clip and surprise sticker pack, while supplies last.

The partnership has already generated interest, with more than 17,000 potential new donors signing up for more information and nearly 3,000 blood donation appointments booked during the first week of the promotion.

The Red Cross says every blood donation can help patients in need.
