Ritz: Education Dept. Focusing Summer on Literacy

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): School Superintendent Glenda Ritz says she’ll spend the summer promoting literacy around the state. Ritz told Indiana Democrats on Friday that the Department of Education is partnering with other Indiana groups including the United Way, Boys & Girls Clubs and libraries to push reading literacy. The department is urging families to spend at least 20 minutes a day reading.
