LOWELL, Ind. (WOWO) — Indiana State Police in Northwest Indiana handled over two hundred crashes during the recent winter storm.

Lieutenant Terrance Weems reports that most of these incidents were preventable and caused by drivers traveling too fast for conditions.

Despite two patrol cars being struck in the Lowell district, no troopers were seriously injured in those collisions.
