WINCHESTER, Ind. (AP) – An eastern Indiana teacher who admitted in court to having sex with a 17-year-old special education student has been sentenced to three years on home detention.
The Star Press reports 39-year-old Shannon Woodson pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of child seduction. She was charged in August 2011 with having a sexual relationship with a boy who had recently been her student in a special education class at the Greater Randolph Interlocal Cooperative, which is 25 miles east of Muncie.
The plea deal accepted by Randolph Superior Court Judge Peter Haviza also calls for Woodson to permanently surrender her teaching license.
