SGS to Invest in New Equipment; New Workers

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WOWO): New jobs and a $770 thousand dollar investment for new equipment are in store for a Whitley County company. 


SGS Specialty made the announcement Tuesday for its facility in Columbia City. SGS builds medical devices, surgical instruments and cutting tools.

Right now it employs a couple dozen workers. If all goes to plan, they'll add another 17 over the next four years. 


According to the company, they've begun hiring skilled manufacturing associates with experience operating CNC grinders, lathes and mills.
