Shooting on Lillie Leaves Man in Critical Condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One man is in critical condition following a shooting early Thursday morning on Fort Wayne's southeast side. Around 2:18 A.M., the Fort Wayne Police Department was called to Lillie Street near Baxter on report of a shooting. When officers got to the scene, they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wound/s. The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition but downgraded to critical.

Early information indicates the victim was outside a home when gunfire erupted, hitting the man. The only suspect information at this time is that a light-colored SUV may be involved in the incident. Detectives are interviewing potential witnesses and neighbors. Police say it's too early to determine what led up to the shooting, or if any gang activity played a role. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867.
