FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The University of St. Francis is moving ahead with another piece of their downtown campus.  Local leaders and school officials celebrated with a ceremonial “wall-breaking” for the building that will soon house their School of Business.

USF president Sister Elise Kriss says it makes a lot of sense to utilize the former Chamber of Commerce Building on Ewing Street.  It's part of $12 million dollar project and includes the renovating the Scottish Rite Auditorium unto a performing arts center.

Sister Kriss told WOWO News about $9 million has been raised to date.

During the event, Sister Kriss was surprised with the State's Top Honor, “The Sagamore of the Wabash,” the award presented through Governor Mike Pence's office. It honors her service leading the university and the State.
