Some Hoosier Churches Receive Fliers Regarding Proposed Gay Marriage Amendment

INDIANA, (WOWO): Churches around Indiana have received a flier from a prominent state Conservative group regarding Indiana's proposed gay marriage amendment.

The flier makes dire predictions if Indiana's potential state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage is not adopted.

Advance America says the flier points out law changes that gay-rights activists are pushing around the country along with trying to legalize same-sex marriages. It warns that allowing same-sex marriages opens the door to such things as ministers facing hate-crime charges for preaching against homosexuality and cross-dressing men being allowed in women's restrooms.

The proposed amendment will be a major topic during the legislative session that starts next month. Gay-rights supports say Advance America is using isolated examples or misconceptions as scare tactics.
