State Law Expands Vision Tests

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Now that your kids are back in school, you might want to start thinking about their eyesight. Bill Stanczykiewicz, President and CEO of the Indiana Youth Institute, joined Fort Wayne's Morning News today to talk about the new school policy of checking students' eyes more often. He says this is important because if a kid can't see the board, he or she could become distracted and disrupted and could even be misdiagnosed with ADHD. Kids will now have vision tests in the 5th grade, as well in kindergarten or first, 3rd, and 8th.
