ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana State Police Underwater Search and Rescue Team helped the Allen County Sheriff's Department last Friday search for items of evidence thought to have been discarded in the St. Joseph River. Master Trooper Steven Malone says two purses and other items from four victims were found in about 10 feet of water roughly 35 feet from shore. The purses had IDs, credit cards, and other items that were allegedly taken from multiple burglaries in Allen County. The items were turned over to the Sheriff’s Department as part of their investigation.
