Storm Damage Reported in Kosciusko, Defiance, and Paulding Counties

FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO) Severe storms moved across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, leaving behind scattered damage, power outages, and heavy rainfall.

Tornado warnings were issued in Kosciusko County in Indiana, as well as Paulding and Defiance counties in Ohio, as storms intensified during the evening hours. The most significant damage reports came between 6 and 7 p.m., when strong winds brought down trees and caused localized structural damage.

In Mentone, downed trees were reported, while isolated wind damage was observed in North Manchester in nearby Wabash County. Additional damage across Kosciusko and Defiance counties included roof impacts and scattered power outages. Van Wert County also reported outages linked to the storms.

According to local reports, rainfall was a major factor across the region, with some communities receiving between one and three inches within a 24-hour period. The combination of heavy rain and strong winds contributed to hazardous conditions and localized disruptions.

Cleanup efforts are ongoing as residents assess damage and utility crews work to restore power in affected areas.
