Supreme Court Rules in Case Involving Ball State

WASHINGTON, (WOWO): The Supreme Court rules on a Ball State University discrimination lawsuit. At issue was whether or not a person must be able to hire and fire, to be considered a supervisor in a discrimination lawsuit.

The justices made the decision to throw out an appeal made by Maetta Vance. She’s a caterer at Ball State University and she claimed her supervisor was creating a hostile work environment. But the lower courts said that since the woman could not fire Vance, she was only a co-worker, and they threw out the case. The high court upheld that decision.
