ELKHART, Ind. (WOWO): Three people are dead – including the suspect and two police officers were wounded following a shooting inside the Martin’s Supermarket in Elkhart.

WNDU reports that police were called at about 5-30 last night after a gunman entered the store and opened fire. Employees directed responding officers to both victims who were pronounced dead at the scene. Police exchanged fire with the suspect who was killed.

One officer was treated and released from the hospital – one remains in fair but stable condition. This marks the second homicide situation in Elkhart in 24 hours.
