Around 2 this morning, a gaggle of police descended on the neighborhood near Columbia and St. Joe Blvd because of what is being called a traffic stop and two guys took off running. A short time later, officers turned their attention to the Maumee River. If you’re a savvy geographical type you know the river is right across the street. The word was that someone jumped into the river but never resurfaced. The dive team was then called out. At this point, police are not saying the two incidents are related.
