KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): One person is dead after an ATV accident on Saturday. Chad Baxley of Carlisle died at Methodist hospital early this morning. According to investigators, an off-road vehicle holding Baxley and Joshua Ridgeway, also of Carlisle, hit a washout in the lane and threw them out. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the accident. Ridgeway was taken to an Evansville hospital.

Another accident that has left a 14-year-old girl in critical condition at an Indy hospital happened just 4 miles away from the accident that left a Carlisle man dead. Tori-Ana Brown of Edwardsport was riding a four-wheeler near Oaktown. She tried to stop the vehicle and over applied the brakes. The four-wheeler flipped and landed on top of her. The teen was taken to an Evansville Hospital. A passenger suffered minor injuries.
