INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Unemployment numbers in northeast Indiana dropped significantly in August, according to the new report from the state department of workforce department.  Statewide the non-seasonally adjusted rate dropped from 8.4 percent in July to 8.1 in August.

Allen County's unemployment rate fell from 8.6 percent to 7.1 percent. Similar gains were felt throughout the region. LaGrange County enjoys the lowest in the area at 6.2 percent.
