UPDATE: Allen County Highway Department Warns Drivers of High Water on Roadways

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): As of 3:30 p.m., Thursday afternoon, the following roads were still closed or affected due to high water from Wednesday's heavy storms:

·         Houk Rd. between Maples Rd. & Rohrbach Rd. (closed due to a washout)
·         Sampson Rd. between Maples Rd. & US 30 (High Water signs posted)
·         Arcola Road between O’Day Rd. and Yellow River Rd. (High Water signs posted)

Indiana Highway Department Officials are reminding drivers, that if you encounter a flooded roadway, be sure to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”  Six inches of standing water is enough to cause passenger cars to stall and a foot of water will float many vehicles.
