UPDATE: Train Derails in Northwest Ohio

WILLIAMS COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): New details emerging in that train derailment in Williams County, Ohio around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon. 

A Norfolk Southern spokesman tells WOWO News only 10 cars of a 50-car train actually skipped the rails. Those cars caused 18 inter-modal containers to fall off. 

Authorities originally reported as many as 45 cars had derailed. There are no injuries. Company officials say none of the containers had hazardous materials or dangerous contents, but would not reveal what the cargo was.

The train was en route from Harrisburg, Pa. to St. Louis, Mo. That’s in an area between Williams County Roads 7 and 9 near Edgerton and Bryan.
