Van Wert Deputies recover $200K in stolen property

VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO): The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office recovered a lot of stolen property Friday.

Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach tells WOWO news his office was called by the Ohio State Highway Patrol after they found a stolen piece of equipment on some property in the County. Deputies found a stolen skid loader on the property, then found several other pieces of equipment they believe to be stolen, as well as stolen equipment found on a second neighboring property.

A total of two skid loaders, multiple flat bed trailers, and multiple vehicle trailers were found, all confirmed stolen from jurisdictions in northwest Ohio and portions of Indiana. The total value of everything they found is around $200,000.

No arrests have been made, but police do have a suspect in mind and charges could be coming in the near future.
