Warsaw Police Department Investigating Alleged Arson

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Officers with the Warsaw Police Department are investigating the Monday burning of a church van as a case of arson.

Warsaw Police Department Public Information Officer Kip Shuter said the 1998 Dodge passenger van belonging to the Iglesia Betesda Assembly-God church in Warsaw was intentionally set on fire. The van was last used around Christmas and was left parked behind the church on McClelland Street. The church pastor was clearing snow when he discovered a window to the van was broken. He then noticed someone had set fire to the interior.

Shuter said the fire extinguished itself and that the investigation is ongoing.
