BUTLER, Ind. (WOWO) — Butler residents are without water following a major water main break Thursday, according to city officials.

The break occurred near the intersection of North Broadway and West Main streets, prompting officials earlier in the afternoon to issue a boil water advisory. City officials later said the severity of the break caused the city’s water tower to be completely drained.

As a result, residents will remain without water until repairs are completed and the water tower can be refilled.

City crews are actively working to repair the water main.
