Winona Lake Contamination from Chemical Plant Fire Undetectable

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities assessing the impact of last week's chemical plant fire in Warsaw, have finished their evaluations. According to Indiana Conservation Officers, Winona Lake contamination from the Warsaw Chemical fire is undetectable and residents are being encouraged to visit the Kosciusko County lake.

Agent Rich Hackle with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management say he tested the water and found no amount of chemicals in his tests. Hackle also advised the oxygen level was normal and all his field screens that he uses to detect chemical presence have turned up negative. Fisherman should rest assured that the fish are safe to eat from the lake.
