FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found dead in her home Monday afternoon.

At about 1:10 p.m., police arrived to the 3600 block of Lillie Street after the woman was found by her friend. The victim’s friend hadn’t heard from her for several hours, which is what prompted the visit, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office is working with detectives to document the scene and interview friends, family and neighbors. They are also working to establish a timeline of when she was last heard from.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
