1 dead after early morning crash in Wabash

WABASH, Ind. (WOWO): A female victim died after a one-vehicle crash in Wabash.

At about 1:21 a.m. Monday, police responded to Lafontaine Avenue and Waterworks Road on reports of a crash, according to the Wabash City Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found one female victim. She was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital. She later died from her injuries around 4:08 a.m. Police believe the car crashed into a cement structure that was supporting the railroad overpass.

The crash is still under investigation and the cause of the crash hasn’t been determined.
