NINEVEH, Ind. (AP) — A central Indiana coroner says two bodies found in the burned-out ruins of a rural house are those of two children rescue crews couldn't reach.

Johnson County Deputy Coroner David Lutz on Saturday identified the bodies found after Friday's fire as those of 6-month-old John Ryan Slusher-Abbott and 18-month-old Haley Lynn Slusher-Abbott. Lutz says preliminary autopsy results indicate the siblings died from the severity of their burns.

When firefighters arrived Friday evening at the home in Nineveh about 20 miles south of Indianapolis the structure was fully engulfed in flames.

The Indianapolis Star reports that the children's mother, 29-year-old Serina Slusher-Abbott, was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital with burns to about 35 percent of her body. Her 5-year-old daughter, Alexandria Slusher-Abbott, was not injured in the blaze.
