GARY, Ind. (AP) _ Two Gary residents face state and federal charges stemming from a case in which a woman told police she was forced to perform sex acts with men against her will.

Lake County deputies arrested 45-year-old Vondell Henry and 26-year-old Ashley Friske in a Gary apartment Wednesday on state charges of promoting prostitution and federal charges related to human trafficking. They were released after posting bond.

Lake County Sheriff's spokesman Officer Mark Back says a woman contacted a friend through social media last month and said she was being held against her will at a Gary apartment.

The Post-Tribune reports the woman told a Gary officer she was at the apartment from June 1 to 14 and was forced to perform sex acts with men against her will.
